Dan's Green House is the coolest. Totally worth a visit if you're in Lahaina or even if you're not! The birds are really amazing and the little potbelly pigs are adorable. I'd absolutely adopt them if I lived on the island. I resort to getting one of their amazing bonsai instead. Stop by, have a bit of fun and walk out with a lovely plant!

A super place for getting unusual plants grown out of lava. Their other locations were larger and more comfy than this one upstairs. But their animals and parrots are amazing. You can have plants sent to you by mail on the main land. But coming to Maui is a much better idea--even if it is just to get a plant!!!!!!!!
We have adopted three pets from Dan's- Maya( lilikoi) our Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pig, Chandler, our silver crested Eleanora Cockatoo, and Makame an African Grey. They shipped them to us on special flights.
Naomi ( the owner) is a sweetheart and loves her animals. the tropical plants; grown in lava, are amazing and can be shipped home as gifts. If you love baby pigs and tropical birds, put this on your itinerary…right on Front Street in Lahaina!
I was expecting more of this place based on the reviews. It's quite small, upstairs in a portion of the building. If you're from anywhere outside USA you can't purchase any of the plants for sale. For kids, it could be fun; you could buy bags of food to feed the birds/parrots or see the tiny pigs. (There were four birds and two pigs.) For ourselves just touring Lahaina it was just barely worth the walk up the stairs. I was expecting more, though, so if you understand the entertainment factor is limited you may be pleased with it for what it is.
We have been visiting Maui for over 15 years( we are from New York), and Dan's is the first place we visit when we arrive.
