When he did my foot scrub, he scrubbed only the tops of my feet very fast, and not my heels, which I really needed it after being in the sun and sand so much. He used warm towls on my feet and then slapped them down on the floor.... since he left the lights on the whole time, I looked down and saw the wet towels. The foot "scrub" lasted about 45 seconds.
To be fair, My girlfriend (who is 8 months pregnant) came with me and had a great experience, she loved her massage, but did smell marajuana on the girl giving the massage. She said everything about the massage was great though. She left happy.
Then he did a hand therapy quickly scooping my hands, barely wiping the tops with creme and dragging cords across me for the thermal warmers and letting them fall back on the bed. With the next hand, I knew to set my own hand back down, so he wouln't drop it down. At this point I just felt like I was on a surgical table...never knowing what would happen next.
When he massaged me, he used a slapping motion... slappin his hands down, and then rubbing. As if you would slap a wet rag on a car when your washing it. Typically, they slowly place their hands gently... he slapped down, each and every time... I was so confused..baffeled...I looked at the reviews before our vacation and this place had good reviews. As I lay there.. He used a bottle of oil, pouring it on me, and not into his hands.... when I left I noticed there were dots of oil all over my folded clothes. just plain sloppy!
I don't mean to bash the spa.... it is very cute, right by the ocean and shopping. My girlfriend had a good time. But I felt compelled to make sure no one else has to have the horrible experiece I had and pay $135 for it. If you go, ask for one of the girls. NOT Rodger!!!
My experience was with an older man named Rodger. It was the WORST experience I ever had, and I have been to several spas. He had a long finger nail that felt like glass gutting my back.. I thought it might have been a ring or a bracelet, but it was his fingernail. I had to stop him 3 times for cramming his elbow into my lower back, he kneeded, and elbowed the same spot untill I had to say something.
I was so confused, that when he finally finished and left the room, I felt like It was a scene out of a movie. What the hell just happened?! There is oil all over my clothes, I have dry, sandy feet still and I have to pay for this!!!??? Is this guy even licensed?
The place itself isn't the most luxurious of spas but you would have to pay much more to get that much luxury anyhow. The prices are very reasonable. The staff was all extremely kind. But perhaps most importantly the massages they gave to both my wife and I felt wonderful. The therapists were able to pinpoint exact nerves and muscle groups that were causing me any problems and work on them effectively. I would recommend this place to anyone.
