Wayno and crew are some of the most friendliest people you will meet on this island! Very helpful in getting us what we needed, at amazing prices and gave us all the local knowledge needed. Even gave discounts at other locations.. what more do you want!? True soul surfers, mahalo
Forget Snorkel Bob's or any other snorkel place. This is the place to rent your gear. The service here is amazing. The owner Wayno is very calm, kind and generous. Along with fins and mask he will provide you a nice mesh bag to carry it in and a flotation device of your choice (pool noodle or boogie board). He is very knowledgeable about good snorkeling and surfing locations on the island. He helped make our vacation a wonderful experience that we will never forget.
Unfortunately a very bad experience . The owner was beyond rude . My wife has always been scared of dogs (there is a dog in the store all the time ) and when I mentioned to him that she could not come in as there is a problem with the dog he did not like it ... she stayed out and I started asking some questions about what to rent for snorkeling and his response ... "have u tried the other stores they r very accommodating no matter how much drama, he also said something about getting a lot of drama from Indians" ... I was shocked and left , i think it would be fair if he were to post a sign saying if you are scared of dogs then sorry no service for you -:) Snorkel Bobs nearby was far better .. . As for others who might be planning to go there ... if you are indian and/or scared of dogs then you might want to think twice before going there . I wish the owner best of luck.
We came to HI for the first time and were told we need to rent snorkels while we were here. We went to Snorkel Bobs. Literally they were not very friendly or helpful. I guess you get what you pay for. Thank goodness we turned around and walked out without spending a penny. We drove down the street to Maui Surfboards and met I believe his name was Mel. He was so nice and friendly and super helpful. We told him we would be back for sure. We came back and this time Wayno helped us with the same helpful, friendly manner. Great gear, info, insights and hints. I would tell anyone who wants to snorkel to NOT GO ANYWHERE BUT to these guys!!! They are awesome. Mahalo for a great experience from some Cali visitors who had never snorkeled before. Aloha!!!!!
Came here to rent a snorkeling vest and the owner was very friendly. He offered a pool noodle or a boogie board. Picked the boogie board and let me rent it for free. Came back two hours later to return it and bought a Hawaiian hat. Wayno is very nice and plan on coming back here next time. I'll probably get the whole snorkeling gear though.
