Shockingly disgusted by the way a certain member of staff treats people. Me and my mom were simply trying to donate freshly grown avacados to feed the homeless, and we were run off by a certain staff member working at the donation drop spot. She was verbally abusive to my mother who has been going to salvation army for over 20 years it was sad behavior for supposed "Christians." We will not be donating or shopping here again as far as we're concerned, taking something that is done from the goodness of peoples hearts and throwing it in their face is bad karma and reflects badly on the company. SHAME ON YOU!!! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
The homeless program here is appalling. The staff are verbally abusive, degrading and are so aggressive. This is not a safe place. It's amazing how much they dehumanize you, and the people who come here think of it as normal. They serve old donuts and marmalade and pass this off as giving the homeless the services they need. They drag you through the dirt for crumbs just to watch you feel uncomfortable. Bad place
People are so rude. Hours have changed. They work 2 hours and close for lunch. Been three 3 times and always closed. I think they are closed more then open. Use to be friendly people now just rude people.. need nice staff and correct times of when open and closed. Closed Sunday Monday and Tuesday. Not sure exactly what days now since it changes to the people that work there schedule.
For the longest time this thrift store was considered an inexpensive and reliable spot in Lahaina you could count on for decades for anything ranging from cookware to Halloween costumes. Then something happened around a year ago in 2016. Nightmare management from hell and I am not even slightly exaggerating, replaced really decent people. It was a sad state of affairs. THANKFULLY someone woke up, gave them the boot and brought in normal people to run the show again. Not the same original crew but their human. That's good enough for me.
The staff outside to drop off items were rude and were not helpful at all. My sister and friend could not even unpack our truck because items that were left in the way!! My sister tried to move items out of the way because we nearly fell over them and it was glass and the lady staff snapped at her and said don't touch it! She just stood there with her hands on her hips scoping out items!!! It was a very unpleasant experience and we will never donate to that Salvation Army!!! I cannot believe Salvation Army corporation allows this type of behavior!!! Sad because there are some great people there like Rita and Keith to name a few!! And this was our second encounter with same lady and both times it was unpleasant!!! Shame on her!!! Learn some manners and proper etiquette!!!
