Fresh sushi, great surf and turf options, warm, attentive and engaging service, killer views, upscale but not pretentious. We loved our meal and the entire dining experience!
I eat here every time I'm in Maui--sometimes twice! The sushi menu features some mainstays, fusion, and chef inspirations, but if you want more traditional sushi, this may not be the place for you.
I go here for the seared ahi roll, the forbidden rice, the serene ambience, respectful service, and the view.
Great atmosphere and delicious food. The service left a little to be desired which was very surprising but the quality, freshness, and taste of the food made up for any shortcomings in the wait staff. We ordered sushi and sashimi as well as a few other dishes. Everything was prepared as requested. Steaks were a perfect medium. The fish was very fresh and likely caught the same morning. The facility is clean and well kept and there was definitely an ambience of a seaside getaway. The menu items were a little pricey but about what is expected for high end dining in Maui. Definitely a good stop and an absolute must go if you happen to be staying at the Hyatt.
OK. Nothing special...Expensive. Nice views. Expensive. Forgettable really...Did I mention expensive?
I've eaten both in the formal restaurant area and the lounge area...they're both great. Reservations are strongly recommended.
There are decent vegetarian options as well as cooked options for those who don't favor sushi. The desert is good and portions are small-which is great if you are stuffed to the gills but still want desert;)
The scenery is amazing, hey it's Maui! The beer selection at the bar was better than most places we visited in the last week. The food was really good. The biggest disappointment was the service. First they said it would be a 30 minute wait, no worries, so we went to the bar and half was through our drink we were seated, great! I knew it wouldn't be long as there were a lot of open tables. We waited for 15 minutes and finally the waitress came to the table and asked "would you like something to drink"....ummm.....really....look down at the table, glasses are full. I knew this wasn't a good start. The menu was combined with the bar menu which was strange, I want from whisky to sushi at the turn of a page....strange. so we ordered and again waited.....no water....empty drinks....and no waitress. Finally the first of two appetizers we're served. Again no beverages. Then we asked for a water and our other appetizer. A few minutes later our meal was being served...still no appetizers. The food was good but as you see, bad service can ruin a great atmosphere and meal.
