Only positive things to say about Avis in Kaanapali!
My husband and I are in Maui on our honeymoon and rented a car from Avis. It worked fine for the first few days then the battery died. We then had a friendly stranger jump it. After driving it for an hour to charge it and reporting it to Avis, it died again. We were on hold for a half hour before we got ahold of anyone. We then called back 30 minutes later to be told that our request for roadside service was on hold for no reason (even the employee was confused why). Then we were told that the car to come jump our car could potentially cost us $60 depending on why the car died and was 2 hours away. Not willing to risk them accusing us of something we didn’t do, we declined. We then found out there was another Avis location on Maui closer to us from strangers because Avis had told us the closest one was an hour away (?!?!). Finally, the national Avis company called us and told us that even they couldn’t get ahold of any of the Avis agencies on the island. We then got a ride to the closer Avis and say we need help and to get jumper cables. THEY DIDN’T HAVE ANY. WHAT CAR PLACE DOESN’T HAVE JUMPER CABLES?! Then we get a ride back to our car and finally saw someone with jumper cables that we finally got to help us. 3 hours later we finally trade the car in for another. Absolutely absurd. Won’t use them again.
The staff was very nice to work with, also very efficient. Our car was ready to pick up when promised and it was very clean. I appreciated the service provided by the staff.

All three times I had the fortune of having Angel as my service representative and he was FANTASTIC!!! Efficient, professional and polite! Avis is lucky to have him!
The service was excellent. The car was clean and drove beautifully. The air conditioning worked very well. The truck space was very roomy. The staff at the office could not have been nicer. They were friendly, professional and courteous. We were tourists and they were extremely helpful with recommendations of places to eat and visit and proved us with directions. The courtesy shuttle driver was especially helpful. Overall a stellar experience.
I phoned the office and they were able to give me a Mazda C6 in less than fifteen minutes! No hassles, no issues!
After two days in the Mustang (so much fun for my kids hand me), we switched back to a full size for the next day's flight out if Kahului. They gave us a hybrid Ford Fusion, again clean and fast service, but when we went to put our bags in they wouldn't all fit.
We started in Kahului wuth a full size (Chevy Malibu) and switched to a convertible in Kaanapali for the road to Hana. Service was fast, polite and the cars were very clean.
I called him with no reservation and they sent a shuttle to pick me up and was there in 15 minutes. Fast service when I got into the building they got me squared away from the time I called him to the time I was driving off in about 45 minutes. Every other car rental I've ever had has taken over an hour and a half to do the same thing. Great company very helpful people
