We went out 4/15/17 with captain Jeremy and Sam. They told us up front that the fishing had been slow but we went out with great hopes. They mean it when they say be ready to fish and come early! The boat ride was long but the sunrise over Maui and the breath taking views off Molokai's coast were worth it! I have been on other charters and hunting trips and know that sometimes its just not going to happen and its no fault of the Captain and crew. The morning started promising with lots of birds skimming the water. We hooked up early with a small Mahi Mahi but then fished for hours without success. When we started heading home we certainly were feeling down but not out. Had the day ended there I would still give these guys five stars because they really tried. The boat is great and they Captain and crew were really nice and you can tell they know how to fish. Now the rest of the story! About a half an hour into the ride back it happened, a monster marlin lit up one of our poles. This trip was for my son so he got the chair. We saw this huge fish come out of the water a couple of times. I still have goose bumps about it. The fish took out 800 yards of line and then the battle began! My son battled the fish for almost an hour and when we thought we were close the unfortunate happened and the fish threw the hook. Though we all were disappointed I could not have been more thrilled to watch that fight. The estimate was between 4 and 600 pounds! I saw it and can believe it. I am a catch and release type of fisherman so part of me is happy the fish will be out there to give someone else a thrill. On the other hand it would would have been nice to get a picture! All in all was a great day. Thanks Jeremy and Sam! This is a memory my son and I will have for the rest of our lives!
Super fun and an awesome adventure. We had CPT Fuzzy and Sam. very knowledgeable and super friendly. We pulled in 12 mahimahi, 2 tuna and a wahoo in a very short time. 10/10 would do again. Thanks guys!
So much fun! Cpt Fuzzy and Sam are intense about fishing, and they will work you to bring in the fish! It was all in the experience, though. Yelling encouragement and instructions through my Dramamine laden sea sickness ensured I participated in the action. I've never gotten sea sick, but this was only my second time on the open ocean. Worth it! We stopped to catch our own bait while watching the meteors, then headed out. We were fishing at sunrise - an experience I'll never forget. We brought in 12 mahi-mahi (lost a few), two tuna, and another fish with teeth (ono?). Cpt Fuzzy sliced the fish and packed a huge portion for us to bring back and share. Would go again, if I'm ever back in Maui.
There was a mix up with our chartered trip and these guys did not handle it well at all. We ended up not going out and still being charged $900.
Terrible service. Boat captain and crew all assholes. If 0 stars were a choice, that’s what they would be.
Never informed us that the date of the trip was leaving the night before at 11pm and not the date that we booked. When we showed up to go on the trip the captain refused to talk to us and the deck hand was VERY confrontational!! He then told us my husband showed up to the dock that day to buy fish from them and told them he knew he missed the trip, that never happened because we were at the pool all day with our kids. Flat out liars!!
Attempted to call the "business manager" for 2 days after the trip and our calls were avoided, sent to voicemail and never returned. When we finally spoke to him the day before we left he stated that they sent us an email stating the directions that we needed to be there the night before the date we booked. No email was ever sent to us and when we asked for proof of the email they sent they couldn't provide us with one. (Because it's obvious one was never sent) refused to refund us our money for miscommunication on their end and offered to give us 50% back for a trip we never went on! That's not acceptable for a mistake they made!! Now having to fight it through the credit card company and are out $900. VERY shady business practice.
