That's no poo poo.
I feel like they should have a person on the beach to be there for in case first aid is needed. I got really tired and went back to shore when surfing. However, I then threw up on the beach and was really weak. I don't think the instructors were aware of it because they were out in the water. Fortunately a person on the beach that was hanging out helped me with water and got someone from first aid to come check on me. My fiance also had a bloody noise when someone accidentally hit his face when the board went down into the water. Maybe at the beginning before we go into the water, they should just say hey if something happens let us know. Other than that the lessons were great and they were patient when teaching us before we got into the water.
My teacher was Geoff. He was clear & succinct in his instruction and an affable character overall.
I had an amazing time with my instructor, Matias. I have no surfing experience and he got me riding the waves within the hour, and then I got practice and enjoy the waves for another hour. It was difficult at first, but well worth it! He was very helpful and understanding. The high quality photos(very reasonably priced) were a nice bonus.A big MAHALO to Island Style and Matias for helping me learn to surf!
These guys are so rude! There are many other surf schools along Kaanapali beach with a lot more "Aloha
He gave me tips and reminders when I failed. In approximately 90 minutes I had caught and surfed 7 waves (and forgotten I was 65. We laughed a lot about what time does to a body).
At the end of it all I was exhausted, excited, satisfied and felt like I had found a lost family member.
This is located right in front of Whaler’ village, on the beach. There was a 30-minute training session and then you walk down the beach to find some waves. Surf board, surf long sleeve shirt, and beach shoes provided (trust me you want these items). Our instructors Steven, Peter and Julian were great. They gave good tips and were flexible with surfers that wanted lots of instructors or those like myself who preferred to learn through experience. NOTE!: My wife and I went in early August and the waves were pretty small. I was expecting 5-foot swells at least but the biggest wave I surfed was probably 3 feet tall. Just keep that in mind. Good for first timers and children. But this is the case regardless of the surf company you go with, they obviously have no control over the size of waves you get at each time of the year. Overall, I would recommend Island Style Adventures Surfing!
This is one kind and actualized individual. He is doing what he loves and that makes ALL the diff.
