Derek was most accommodating to my husband and I and his scooters were top notch. He even recomended one of the best snorkeling spots in Maui and we were not disappointed.I highly recommend anyone traveling to Maui to look up Ohana Bike Rental and take up one or even a couple of his awesome deals.

Just a heads up: His business is not the main-street tourist shop operation you might initially look for. He operates out of a storage unit but this is par for the course in that area for many small businesses. There just is very little store-front type real-estate and what is available is $$$$. With this arrangement, overheads are kept low and the savings can be passed on to the renter. And his selection of scooters is a bit eclectic including a could vintage old school models (I rode one I knick-named the beige llama... loved it). Go see Derek and have fun!

Had the best time in Maui last week thanks to Derek and the scooters we rented. You won't meet a more genuine person out there. Rider safety was a top concern and he made sure that the 3 scooter newbies in the group had some practice time with him instructing and were really comfortable to go out on the road before we took off on our adventures. If we'd wanted to, we could have also rented nice mountain bikes and he had the "unicorn" full face snorkel masks for rent (it wasn't good snorkel weather otherwise we'd have been all over it! They are not easy to find).
I have never been on a scooter before and he got me trained up and on the road in no time!
Derek rocks!!! Rented from the touristy places before down the street and it sucked by comparison. If you want to experience real local hawaii, low prices and rent from someone that has made it work as a local, rent from Derek. If you're looking for a shallow disconnected touristy experience, go somewhere else. But wow whata great experience and incredible story (you'll have to ask).
