We stayed here in a 3 Room Apartment. We were a group of 6 travelling with our Adult Children and partners, The location of our room was the best looking down through the resort over the pool and out to sea - Faultless.
Message to Management - You need to do some serious training with most of your front desk team. Some are good but overall very poor service. We are Kiwis and very easy going and do not have high expectations but your staff were noticeably poor compared with other accommodations.
We found the staff to be great and everyone in our party thought the same thing. We had great service from everyone. The front desk was very helpful and the concierge helped us pick out some great excursions. When we get back to Maui we will definitely be staying at the Honua Kai again.
First the hotel is amazing. It's right on one of the best beaches in the world. We went with a large group and everyone's room was awesome. A couple people in our group went in together and got a three bed three bath full ocean view and it was absolutely awesome! Our 1 Bed suite was really good as well, and was more than enough room for us. All of the appliances were updated and worked well. We were thankful for the in room laundry and how much less work we had to do when we got home since all the laundry was done. We enjoyed how the glass wall opened all the way up to enjoy the morning air while getting ready to start the day. The views did differ quite a bit for each of the rooms, but if you're really concerned about that just let the hotel know. The grounds were very well maintained and very beautiful. The pools were great, and we were lucky enough to get there a day after the kiddie pool with the water slide opened up, our little guy really enjoyed it. He also enjoyed the beach. The sand was great and the waves weren't too big where we were too nervous, although we did have him in a life jacket all the time just to make sure. You can rent things like snorkel gear, boogie boards, etc. from the pool concierge free for the first hour and if you want more time with it the cost is minimal (like $5 an hour or something).
Awesome units and location, nice pools, restaurant on site. We've stayed at 2 different units and they were both great. We love coming here to vacation, really nice all in one place. Times market right behind it has groceries, Maui brewing up the street, Kaanapali is close by. Great location away from people enough while still being close
Not really good enough for such a nice resort.
We had a cockroach issue on the 1st night and were delivered some pest control traps.
The water pressure was impeccable. that was the only good element of the hotel. the conditioner wasn’t nearly as high quality as i expected. do not get me started on the microwaves. there were at least 17 buttons on the microwave that were not necessary to operation. i identify as a mountain and was offended when an employee called me sir. overall i would return if i was given the option between returning and being given approximately 67 years in a federal penitentiary.
The room condition was good and well appointed.
This resort was fantastic! They feature beautifully appointed condos on the Kaanapali Beach in Maui. Most of them feature a partial view of the ocean. The garden views also look out on beautifully landscaped gardens and lagoon style pools. Duke's is a destination style restaurant which sits at the edge of one of the pools, right on the ocean. Great food. Of all the resorts I have stayed in the world, this may be the best.
