From the moment we walked into this beautiful and spacious home we knew we made the right choice in rental homes. We shared the house with another family, and we all enjoyed this amazing place, including the teenagers. I loved the privacy staying in a home provided as opposed to a large hotel. The kids could walk to the beach, town, and skate park on their own which made it relaxing and stress-free for the adults. Having our own pool was a major highlight for all of us. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable with lovely linens and furnishings. The AC came in handy during an August visit. In addition to the water/island view from the upper deck, the view of the Maui mountains was just gorgeous. I loved all the fragrant plants and trees around the property, a truly Hawaiian experience. Highly recommend!
Just book here and save yourself the headache and the bore of staying in a resort. Feel like a local and really soak in Lahaina!
House wise: The house is in immaculate shape. It has every amenity you could want. The pool is wonderful, the outdoor space is huge and well laid out, the master bathroom has 2 shower heads, kitchen is great for cooking, and basically every room has a TV (not that you need them in Lahaina).
Loved my time there. I had the big downstairs bedroom, but preferred to fall asleep on the comfy couch outside my door, staring up at the stars. It was an easy walk to shopping, bars, and food, or to the beach where I tried surfing for the first time, then used the surfboard as a float and just enjoyed the crystal blue water. The pool is awesome. My favorite part of being there was the time I spent floating in the pool, enjoying conversations. Can't wait to go back.
You won't want anything more than this house when visiting Lahaina. It is the perfect place to stay!
Location wise: You can walk to the beach and bike to anywhere in town
Staying at this location in Maui gave me the best experience I could ask for. The house was close to the downtown part of Lahaina and is just a block away from the beach. Also there is a skate park a few blocks away. Every morning waking up to see the mountains of Lahaina through the beautiful garden this resort has to offer was breath taking. Every day is an adventure, I never knew what each day had in store for me. It's a guarantee to have a great day as long as you go out and enjoy the island. After watching the sunset, the best part to end my days were to come home to this gate house and being welcomed with everything a luxurious home had to offer. I was often exhausted from jam packed days of activities that I was very delighted to be able to enjoy the in ground pool and grill in the backyard. Truly the perfect get away!
Best Vacation I Have Ever Had.
The Lahaina Gatehouse is the perfect home to rent for a large family (or 2) getaway! We had 8 people (including 4 adults and 4 children ranging in age from 7-17) spend a week in Maui. This house had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The salt water pool in the backyard is beautiful. There is also a great barbecue grill and a kitchen filled with all of the tools needed to prepare great meals. Additionally, having a washer and dryer makes life so much easier with children! Also available for our use were lots of beach chairs, snorkeling gear, umbrellas, coolers and bicycles. The location is perfect; it's an easy walk to the downtown area on Front Street where all of the shops, restaurants and the famous banyan tree are located. There is beach access very close (about a 5 minute walk). This beach is small and was great for the entire family. The waves break a ways out so the water along the beach is calm and allowed for great snorkeling, paddle boarding and relaxing. We even had a turtle swimming right next to us along the shoreline. It's an easy drive to a variety of activities. Be sure to visit the Maui Ocean Center if you have children. A great hike can be found in the Iao Valley and the snorkeling at Napili Bay was perfect. For those who like to golf, check out Kaanapali and Kapalua. The owners went above and beyond to ensure our comfort while staying in their home and made us feel very welcome. The concierge, Lisa, was equally amazing and helped us get tee times and other activities booked. She set us up for the Drums of the Pacific Luau at the Hyatt - one of the best luaus I have ever attended! This was truly an amazing vacation filled with great memories....we hope to return again and stay in the Lahaina Gatehouse. Thank you for sharing this wonderful home with us!!
You'll feel safe inside the gate of the house and the onsite property manager makes it so easy to get anything you need or lack. Lisa is awesome!
