Typical resort beach... which are all nice in Maui. The waves are gentle and very calm, great for snorkel learners. But too crowded and touristy for me but I would go back for a family/children trip. For adults only trip tho, I'd travel to a quieter or more fun spot.
We went there for snorkeling, and the experience was phenomenal. There were countless fish, and it took just a few minutes to find the first of four sea turtles. You don't need to swim far to see the fish. I recommend going early in the morning (around 8am) to avoid the crowd and stay close to the rocks.
Great show and service, however I left the "feast" still hungry. I had plenty of drinks from the open bar, however I wish they would have served more food. Overall a good experience with good quality food, drinks, and service.
Good spot. Go during the week. It was prettuy busy on a weekday in December at lunch time. Get the snorkel gear and check out the bay - good reef, some turtles, and quite a few schools of fish. Still a resort style beach and pretty busy. Bathrooms and showers are handy.
So beautiful! It gets busy so go early to get parking and a good spot on the beach. And bring a snorkel! Amazing clear, calm water. Never very deep. We saw at least two dozen varieties of fish! Shower by the beach and bathrooms/ shower near the free parking lot. There's also street parking, mostly on one side.
