Extremely dissatisfied.
Great location on ocean, walking distance to beautiful beaches, shopping, and restaurants. Two pools, and lovely grounds. Studio, one and two bedroom units with well equipped kitchens. Very friendly and helpful staff. Management oversights during our stay including failure to clean floors before we moved in and a large private event which negatively affected our view and use of our unit for three days (and which we were not told about when assigned to the unit) causes the less than perfect score.
Great place for the money. Very disappointed that one hot tub was not working and lots of construction noise. One of the pools was closed one day also due to an "accident" and needed cleaning but no one was around to do it. They need to do a better job of timing the maintenance because it was a holiday week and there was too many things that needed work which make it inconvenient for guests.
We booked this hotel through Expedia. The pictures on Expedia were great and convinced us to book a room at this place. We went to the lobby and checked in. The staff was very friendly and kind. We booked our room and we got J406. Once we came in, we saw what a mess this place was. Specifically the bedroom. It was the same thing as the upstairs of a house, empty, with two beds. There was no privacy at all. We called the front desk, and their response was they weren’t in charge of the rooms they only booked rooms. They said to call the “Aston at Papakea Resort number.” Once we called the number they gave us, apparently they were only available 8-5.
Absolutely lovely grounds with large koi pond, right on the shore, condo had just about everything one needs to cook at home. The staff were nice. Swimming pool was so comfortable and the hot tub is also popular. Family friendly, as there are many 2BR units. Took away 1 star for the hard mattress on the king bed. I had to sleep on one of the twin beds in the kids' room. Also, the furniture could really stand some replacements. The living room sofa and chairs, patio table and chairs. I would still recommend the venue.
I love it here! It is a magical, majestic place. The accommodations are very clean and roomy. The grounds are meticulously maintained. The staff are very professional and courteous.A very family friendly and quiet place. I love the peaceful beauty here. The only drawback is the lack of a sandy beach. This is offset by all the beaches around it. This is my third time at Aston Papakea and I will definitely be back again.
