To be blunt, room (424) is absolutely disgusting. It is very dated, but that's not the main issue.
The living room has a filthy stained carpet and dirty walls. The couch has an exposed staple that I unfortunately discovered when I sliced my toe on it.
The kitchen is okay, but the toaster does not consistently work, and the fridge was not functioning and warm when we first checked in (luckily that was fixed).
We have been to Paki Maui twice and hope to come back again. Perfect view, rooms are spacious, clean and well stocked, smaller property so it feels cozy and like home away from home. Staff is amazing. Close to shopping without being in the city. Small park next door right on the beach.
Beautiful location. Our room was clean and had a gorgeous ocean view. Staff was friendly and prompt when we had an issue with our blender. Beach right behind the building and EMPTY! I highly recommend!
That being said, the view from the balcony is gorgeous and the pool and BBQ downstairs are great. However, room 424 should not be rented out until there are some serious upgrades. There may be some lovely suites at the Paki Maui, but we were assigned an absolute dump. Beware.
Amazing location. RIGHT on the beach. Our unit (410) had an unbelievable, breathtaking ocean view. Garden & koi pond in center of complex are beautiful. The essential things in the room were clean. Unimportant things, like the outside of the fridge & the floor out on the balcony needed cleaning. Some stuff could use replacing/repairing in our unit - issues with the toaster, bottom rack of dishwasher doesn't stay on tracks, spare bedspread for sofa bed has yellow stains. Full kitchen equipped with dishes & cookware was very convenient. The little hotel size soaps/shampoos/lotions they give smell so good! Pleasant staff. Ample free guest parking. I used one of the coin-op washing machines on the 4th floor. Maybe I put too many clothes in, but my clothes didn't wash well at all. I had to rewash them at a laundromat in Lahaina. Great for families - I traveled with my 3 kids (2 yrs, 4 yrs & 9 yrs). But it was really peaceful while we were here & so it would be great for people without kids, too. Any issues I had were very minor & I would love to stay here again.
The screen doors to the balcony are loose and do not work properly.
Stay away from this awful place!!! Save your time and take your money elsewhere my best advise to you. This place provides you terrible service and they charge you for new towels $9 a towel. They also told us that there was $125 cleaning fee. Although I pre paid for my stay they would not let me check in without paying the $125. Ironically on the second day we ran into a cleaning lady and she told us they don’t service or clean the rooms. I asked her if we could then get fresh towels from her she stated to go to the front and they would sell us some. The front desk service from Jackie was beyond terrible. She had a terrible attitude from the first day. It only continued after that, when I attempted to obtain pool towels she stated she didn’t have any didn’t even bother to check. We then asked Jackie for change so we could wash our clothes and towels. Jackie quickly responded she didn’t have change without even looking to see if she had any. She gave a very hostile attitude and shouldn’t be in customer service in my opinion at all. Jackie was beyond rude and looks very miserable I kinda feel bad for her. Please stay away from this place there is no ac at all either. I would not even give them one star terrible!!!!
The master suite sliding door is broken and constantly comes off the tracks. It is chipped and filthy with stains, some of which appear to be blood. The headboard has old dried snot on the right side. The drapes are absolutely filthy. The ensuite bathroom does not have a working fan, so it is always very humid and makes the toilet paper soggy. The wallpaper above the shower is peeling.
In the main bathroom, the outer ledge of the counter is literally rotting off. The bathroom door doesn't shut tight because it is water damaged and swollen.
