My wife and I came here for our anniversary. It was our first time to Hawaii and we are happy with our choice. The hotel may not be as modern as some others, but it makes up for it with staff that are all very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxing with live music in the afternoon and evening. The room smelled a bit musty the first night, but the cleaning staff took care of that the next morning and called to follow up and make sure everything was to our liking. We were very impressed with how quick they were to address our issue. The beach is clean and quiet. It's nice going out in the morning before it gets busier because all you hear are the waves coming in and it's very peaceful. There are no annoying sales people bothering you and trying to sell you activities/merchandise. The pool is a little on the small side, but with the awesome beach so close, we didn't mind one bit. There are dining and shopping options on the premises (with reasonably priced souvenirs), and more only a short walk away at Whalers Village. Overall this was a very positive introduction to Hawaii and it will definitely be on the list of places to visit again.
I am so impressed- I love this place and never want to leave!
If you want a place with charm and a real Hawaiian feel, this is the place. Would return in a heartbeat.
The rooms are decent, the decor is no thrills but comes equipped with all the necessities, who stays in their rooms with views and beaches like this! The grounds are well maintained with many beautiful flowers and trees. The staff go out of their way to help and always say "Aloha".
I’ll be back!
Fantastic, helpful, and courteous staff, really make you feel welcome! Excellent location, beautiful views and easy access eight to the beach. Local made crafts and goods for sale in the lobby every day, different vendors all the time. Pool as well if the beach isn't your thing. I really enjoy the amount of Hawaiian culture they've put into their hotel! Those saying that the rooms need updating are reaching for something to complain about, go stay at a Hilton with that BS :P
Our stay here was fantastic, the location is great and quiet. The hotel is smaller in size than the surrounding ones, which made it feel much less busy and crowded. The large lawn provides plenty of space to tan or just relax, never a shortage of loungers. The sunsets from here are gorgeous!
The prices are fair for any extras like parking rentals and drinks so I don’t feel like I’m being ripped off. Lovely breakfasts every morning and even live music and shows on the weekends.
I almost didn’t want to post such a good review so I could keep this gem to myself .... but I just had to share.
Great hotel and far less crowded or busy than the surrounding resorts. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The building we stayed in was incredibly quiet - we weren’t disturbed by noise from rooms beside or above us. If you’re doing Maui properly you won’t spend much time in your room and this property is fantastically located along the ocean-front boardwalk. We’d stay here again.
The most helpful and friendly staff, laid back vibes (no hard selling as no commissions are taken on activities here, so all recommendations are the real deal), awesome location and a tiki bar with the best tropical cocktails I’ve ever had (seriously go here if you have a chance!)
