The restaurant here is nice and quiet, we came for breakfast a couple happy hours. The breakfast buffet is decently priced for the selection you get, some fruit, omelettes, french toast, assorted bread, bacon, ham, cereal, etc. Love the coffee here. Happy hour cuts the cost of some drinks in half, Don's Mai is really good. You can enjoy happy hour onat the poolside bar at some raised bar tables and stools or on lawn chairs. It is too bad you can't bring the chairs to the beach, instead you have to pay to rent different chairs if you want to be on the sand.
Pretty good hotel, this was our second stay. We had to move rooms because the first one (5002) had a shower that wasn't draining properly because the floor was j even. It was also very small and the air conditioner has some issues.
We moved to 6007 and were much happier. The process was smooth and the hotel staff were accommodating.
Views are very nice. Staff is very friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is very dated - furniture is very old and the paint is peeling off the walls (see pics below). I had to change rooms because one had mold. The other one did not- but the paint was still peeling off the walls. For a deluxe room that costed $$$$, I had expected better conditions.
After arriving we were repeatedly notified of the room predicament. It was quickly taken care of, though, and the staff helping us pushed for us to get the room we wanted. The lobby is incredibly relaxing, and although services are a bit pricey, you won't regret spending the extra buck. Our room did not have peeling paint or poor conditions, but it should be noted that dining out is the best option while staying here. We stayed in a decently spaced room, but it did not contain a microwave or toaster. There is a refrigerator, but it's very small.
We came back to this place because of our first experience which was great, and this time was the same. My only real complaint about this place is parking since they have a luau on most nights (which we went to the last time and enjoyed) which causes the parking lot to be full, so you end up parking far away. All nights with the exception of one, we arrived to have to park at least one of not two or three rows away from the closest due busyness. Otherwise, highly recommend this hotel.
The location and feel of the resort is what really made it special. It is a smaller resort, so much less crowded. The beach is much more secluded, but you are steps away from the bigger resorts with a variety of restaurants, shopping, golf, swimming, and snorkeling. If you want the Hawaii experience, but not the huge resort feel, stay at the Royal Lahaina. We didn't feel like a number there. It was a dream come true and I wouldn't have wanted to change a thing!
If you value customer service, the staff is especially kind and considerate. They are extremely knowledgeable about activities and locations.
This place is great! Super friendly and attentive staff. Great location, and access to the beach. We had a WONDERFUL time! If we are ever back in Maui, no hesitation, we will return here.
My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Maui and stayed at the Royal Lahaina. It was our first trip to Maui and we were blown away! The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating.
