-good coffee & fruit at breakfast

-free parking

Review of the Pros & Cons of our 13 night stay.

-breakfast was really bad Except for the coffee and fruit (pineapple or orange segments). For example ordered the scrambled eggs and they arrived so ‘rubbery’ I had to cut them with a knife. Also the French toast was a sweet gooey piece of white bread and it sat in my stomach liked I had eaten a rubber ball.

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, though I would have preferred slightly firmer pillows. The bathroom was nice except that the hot water was very...enthusiastic and required constant fiddling so as to not scald oneself. My only other complaint for the room was that some of the windows didn't have shades due to the design and a security light shined in and made the room very bright. The whole area was quiet and peaceful, and my husband and I both enjoyed the fact that the hot tub and pool were 24-hours, however the pool towels were not, which led to us hoarding a couple for use. Breakfast was included but gratuity was not, same with the car rental, which, while understandable also led to us feeling slightly nickel-and-dimed. Breakfast was adequate but slightly underwhelming seeing as it came from the same restaurant that was previously named "the best french restaurant" on Maui. Housekeeping was fast and thorough. Wi-fi was present but barely usable due to distance from the router. I suggest a repeater be used so that guests can actually take advantage of it. We are definitely interested in staying here again.

-bathroom had black mold around sink, tub and toilet and on the shower curtain which housekeeping changed out for us.

-right in Lahaina just off of Front street, everything you could want was a short walk away.

-view from the room, was the parking lot and the garbage/recycling bins for the inn and restaurant

-pretty quiet, no children.

- nice staff Regina, Sam and the housekeeping ladies! Great to meet Chris from Gerard’s restaurant

Plantation inn Maui Panaewa Suite - Room #20

-non smoking

Pros

-our suite very dated, old furniture, the couch and chairs were completely spent, carpet was stained and smelt moldy.

Cons

Lovely place... All the needed amenities. With a wonderful staff.

-we could not use the air conditioner the two weeks we were there because of the smell of mold coming from it was so strong! (We even bought 2 air fresheners to try to mask the smell of mold). We reported it to the hotel and they advised they would check to see when the AC units were lasted serviced. We never received an update and never used the AC for the rest of our trip

-The 06:30 AM pick up of the garbage dumpster. It was pulled out to the street where it was emptied and then rolled back into the parking lot area, all underneath our room.

-It was because of the poor food quality at breakfast catered by Gerard’s that we chose not to redeem our $50.00 gift certificate and eat dinner there.

Not quite what we thought.

Not worth the $242.00 US a night.(in the off season)

-pool was not heated and water was very chilly, but the hot tub was warm.

If the big resorts aren't your thing, then this sweet hotel in this lovely town might be perfect! Beautiful rooms, no added extras like parking and valet and resort fees, stunning and deep pool open 24 hours and a gourmet breakfast as well! This place has character and soul, a beautiful old dame of building updated for a modern traveller. The town has so many options for food and drinks and water activities, plus a fascinating history. Our only regret is not staying longer.

Came here for our honeymoon. Overall, I would say the place was very good, just short of being outstanding. The location makes everything on Front street within walking distance, and I certainly appreciated the kids-free aspect. We ended up doing one of their package deals, which was very convenient, though I didn't check to see if we would have gotten a better deal renting a car separately. The breakfast served was a bit hit or miss, though the coffee was very good. While the breakfast was complimentary, gratuity was not, and was not noted in our reservation information. Service was very friendly. I really liked the rooms for the most part, though they didn't block noise very well. This was the flip side of the good location as it's easy to hear noises from outside.

-fridge worked well

-bed was comfortable
