A neat place to check out. It's amazing to see it's all one big tree and how old it is. Definitely a must see in my opinion when visiting Lahaina. One of the days I went there was a craft fair going on so that made it a bit more difficult to fully appreciate the tree. But it was neat to look through the various vendor tables. There is a small museum building at one end if you want to learn more or need a break from the heat. There are also a lot of shops and restaurants nearby.
A great big banyan tree on front st., provides great shade on a hot day. There are lots of benches to sit after a long walk along the front street or after an activity like whale watching. The tree is beautifully lit with lights during the Christmas holiday season.
Such a neat old tree! Lovely spot to hang out in the shade. Also close to public restrooms
A nice stroll though the galleries inside. Outside there is a giant Banyan tree that the kids loved to run around and hung off the large branches.
There's usually a market in this public square on weekends. Mostly just artists selling good. On weekdays lots of odd people hang out here. Some seem like they might be beggars or homeless. I recall overhearing a convo between two men one scream "I don't have any f***ing money"
