The food is tantalizing, the customer service if out of this world. I'm shocked this place isn't 100% 5 stars across-the-board. I guess some leave room for improvement. My wife and I'll be back tomorrow for lunch! Leo our Server was great.
Bland, gross food, bad service. I was charged 7 dollars more for a Don Julio plate, when it has the exact same ingredients and amount as the taco plate. The server forgot what my friend and I ordered, so when we went to split the check, he had to ask us twice what we got in order to split the plate. The people next to us asked to have their order delayed by the same server, and I heard them complain because their order arrived 5 minutes after they ordered it, not delayed. The food was so bland I asked for salt. I had to add salt, salsa, and cheese for it to have any flavor. The rice was not Mexican rice! It was something green???!!! Maybe I'm just spoiled because I'm from Texas. I'll go eat at Amigos in town next time.
The food was great however, the service was not. My friends and I went to eat dinner and the host was extremely rude to us. We got there with a few of our friends and first the gal made us wait for about 10min when there was PLENTY of seating available. When we got seated, we later had a few more friends join us and asked if it was okay to move. She rudely answered and walked away from us. As if she was upset that we even asked. Again plenty of seating available. A couple next to us said we could then get their table as they had been waiting to pick up the check also for a while. When we told the host, she said she was not going to rush them and walked away from us. This by far was the WORST experience I had on my trip to Maui. The food and waiter were great but I have never had such poor customer service to say the least. Not big on posting reviews but this gal really needs to either get out from working in customer service or the restaurant needs someone who will give better representation.
I'm having a hard time understanding how this place rates so high. This was a complete was of time and money and I was extremely disappointed since I based my decision to come here on the good reviews. The steak was over cooked. The seafood was odd, almost fake in texture and taste. Everything was bland and highly over priced. We felt very blindsided as the chips and salsa were great, so were our first drinks, but after that it was a complete bust. We came here for my birthday and it was sadly regrettable. The service and setting was fantastic but if you know quality food and have that expectation, don't come here.

We really enjoyed our visit to Frida's. The steak was tender and had great flavor! The octopus was tender and delicious. We also enjoyed the duck wings quite a bit. If you only come here once, don't miss the corn! You can spice up the chips with a sweet and extremely spicy Habenro sauce on request. The service was amazing. Our server was very friendly and helpful when choosing our menu items. I'm sad that I'll have to fly all the way back to Hawaii to eat here again.
