Saute larger pieces of pork shoulder, so when it's done. The pork won't be tough! Also, add equal parts of dark (thick) soy sauce and spicy vinegar.

Food court that it is in is family/child friendly. Gotta drop at least $6 to park.

My family had the lunch here before going to the beach, was expecting good food based on the review online. However, pretty disappointed by the food quality and taste comparing to the price. Ordered the salmon combo, coconut shrimp combo, and mac&cheese for the baby. The salmon is just in the size of half the adult palm, taste was so so, but cost 20 bucks. The coconut shrimp costed us 16, but my wife was not even full. Its size is so small. The mac cheese is definitely over cooked, our baby did not want a second bite...very disappointed by this.

Instead of lathering the noodles with tons of oil, use low sodium chicken broth to keep the noodles moist and it adds flavour when adding the noodles to the vegetables.

My family and I were craving Filipino food and discovered Joey's was serving pancit and other basic staples from home.

Don't get your hopes high coming to get your grub on Pinoy style because you will be very disappointed.

A few quick tips when making pancit and pork adobo:

Above average food. Friendly service. Portions were decent, not great

The pancit was too oily and lacked taste. The pork adobo rice was too oily and salty.

The pork was almost non existent, only 2 quarter sized pieces of overcooked, tough pork.

Little food shop in the Whaler’s Village mall. It has lots of Hawaiian Mixed plates which are a favorite on the island. Great place to grab a bite between the beach and the hotel. I would recommend it.

Don't listen to some of these negative posts. Simply not true. This place was incredible! Some of the BEST Kalua pork and rice I've ever had. The mac salad was a bit subpar but who cares. The main dish was amazing! If you're looking for a great island flavor and a VERY reasonable price (considering the prices at some of these places) look no further. Highly highly recommend...and I live in LA.

I'm Filipino and been cooking and baking for over 35 years. The cook should take more pride in his cooking. After all he's representing the basic dishes from the Philippines!
